Care and Share is pioneering a new concept of children’s Parliament to ensure better governance and child rights. Its purpose is to ensure children’s participation in the development process through governance structures, making them aware of their rights, motivating them to fight against child rights violations, protecting them from all forms of abuse and trafficking, ensuring the enrollment of every child in the schools and preventing dropouts. It also develops the leadership qualities of the children which will give way for enlightened future citizens, having social consciousness and responsibility. Presently we have about 75 children’s parliament, each having 30-35 children living in the neighbourhood. Care and Share is also part of the Neighbourhood Community Network (NCN) movement which has about 350 NGOs in TamilNadu.
